CompTIA A+ Course Syllabus
Certified IT skills are the key to future employment in this lucrative and fast moving environment. And more and more employers are demanding verifiable competence and demonstrable abilities.
SkillsTrain’s comprehensive CompTIA A+ course will take you through every step necessary to ensure you’re fully competent in PC maintenance, engineering and networking.
And at every step of the way, your personal tutor will guide you through the steps necessary to achieve the regular assignments and progress onto the next stage.
The SkillsTrain CompTIA A+ course is divided into two main sections, each with a Part A and a Part B, for students to work through towards the compTIA externally marked examination.
Part A is a comprehensive introduction to operating systems, hardware, memory, storage and power systems, cabling and how to get started with PC hardware support.
Part B introduces concepts of networking, connecting PCs, peripherals, security, safety, Windows installation and upgrades, troubleshooting and maintaining a PC.
This part of the course takes you step by step through the fundamentals of PC hardware and operating systems and at each completed stage you submit Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA’s) to verify your competence and give you confidence to move on.
The next part of the course builds on the information and knowledge gained, with a far more technical look at each aspect of PC engineering and maintenance, to enable you to build your own PCs and networked systems and to confidently problem-solve and repair hardware and software issues.

“The most significant accomplishment for me was my new job. After a long wait, I have moved into the IT industry. I am now working as a Technical Sales Advisor. Prior to this I was working as a part-time cleaner.” - Mohammed
